Festival of Sport

If you are year 3 to year 10 come and join in!

Come and join in with the Blackmore Village Fayre FESTIVAL OF SPORT. It’s great fun and you don’t have to be a super athlete. We just want you to join in and experience the brilliant activities and fantastic atmosphere.

There are three teams: MINECRAFT, SONIC and POKEMON. Each team will consist of children from two age groups, school year 3 to year 6 and school year 7 to year 10. Each age group will compete against each other in the various events.

Bacon rolls, sausage rolls, Burgers, coffee and refreshments will all be available on the day.

Entry forms must be completed by Today at 3pm, after that the form will close.

Scarecrow Trail & Competition

Design a scarecrow representing a game or character from a game.

Scarecrows for judging should be taken to St Laurence's Church on Saturday 27th at 2.30 pm. Judging will be at 3pm by Rev Sam.

Exposé are without doubt the number one covers band on the Essex circuit today. A regular band featured on the main stage at the Brentwood Festival they play tracks from all genres - guaranteed to get you singing & on your feet!

Build a Soap Box Racer and compete in a time trial

THE CHALLENGE… use your own materials to design and build a single seat ‘soap box’ to carry a child of your choice, propelled solely by an adult, around our course. Each team will compete separately, it’s not a race against other teams it’s a race against the clock!

THE THEME… for the karts is Mario (fancy dress optional!)

Blackmore Village Fayre Charity Bike Ride

On closed roads around Blackmore
Monday 29th May 2023 - Ride starts at 3.00pm

You will be cycling as far as your stamina will allow, up to a maximum of one hour; so oil that chain, pump up those tyres, load up on pasta and ride as many as two and a quarter mile laps of our closed circuit as you can. This very popular event takes riders into pleasant countryside around Blackmore and Spriggs Lane.

Since 1976 we have been riding high at Barrow Farm enabling people with special needs and disabilities to develop their abilities and enrich their lives through riding.

We are looking for volunteers!

Volunteering is a great way to contribute to everyone’s safe enjoyment of the Fayre. We need volunteers to act as Marshalls, run the stalls and help with set up and take down. Even a few hours of your time would be very much appreciated! Please contact volunteer@fayre.live-website.com

We want everyone attending the Village Fayre to have an enjoyable time. The Organisers and Marshalls will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the safety of the public and volunteers is a top priority. However, it is not possible for the Organisers to eliminate all risks including the risk of injury. Specific activities and events have specific safety warnings and instructions for participation: please read these carefully and understand them before participating. In general, by agreeing to participate in the activities and events of the Fayre, you accept that:
1. You must always act responsibly and sensibly
2. You must not participate if unwell, under the influence of alcohol or prescription drugs, or subject to any condition that might impair judgement
3. You must observe all safety warnings or instructions displayed or given by Marshalls and organisers
4. You must take responsibility for ensuring that you are fit to participate
Please discuss with an Organiser or Marshall if you have any question about safety or there is anything you do not understand.
